In the heart of the Gedeb-Chelchele region, Tarekech Werash runs her farm—a woman for whom coffee has become a way of life and a legacy she has passionately passed down for over three decades. Together with her husband, Fikadu, she founded the farm in 1990 and is now one of the most respected producers in Yirgacheffe.

Tarekech believes the best coffee comes from caring for the land—her 5-hectare farm is a living example of regenerative agriculture. The coffee grows under the shade of trees, in soil teeming with life, at an altitude of over 2,000 meters above sea level. Everything is produced naturally: home-grown compost, no chemical fertilizers, hand-harvested, and slowly dried on bamboo tables for 18–24 days.

“Anyone who tries my coffee will fall in love with it immediately,” says Tarekech. And indeed, in every cup you can feel the love and patience that goes into crafting this exceptional coffee.
